Black Daisy Arts and Crafts
– First Weekend in August,
downtown Mackay. Vendors from
all over the Northwest as well
as local artisans and crafters
from the Lost River Valley.
Chapman Golf Tournamentt
– This
is a man/women tournament with
alternating shots. Should be
great fun! Located at the Cotton
Wood Links Golf Course. For more

September
Mackay Free Barbecue –16 of
September, 3rd Saturday in
September, 12:00 noon. ”Tons of
Meat! It’s Mackay’s Treat!” This
free barbecue is an annual
tradition sponsored by local
residents and businesses. The
event draws over 3,000 people
annually. Held at Tourist Park
at the end of Vaden Street.
5th Annual Cowboy Poetry
Gathering – 15th of
September– 3rd Saturday in
September, 5:00 at the Mackay
Main Theater. It will be an
evening of rip-roaring laughter
and top of the line
entertainment, as well seasoned
artists perform poetry and
ballads. Our own Vernon Woodbury
will be the MC for the evening
as well as reciting some great
poems. Flyer for gathering
Lost Rivers Heritage Days
– 13th - 14th of September. This
annual event will feature a John
Wayne Film Festival movie times
and location and the First
Annual Chili Cook-off Rules
Entry Form. It will be held in
conjunction with the Mackay BBQ
and Annual Cowboy Poetry
Gathering. City Wide. Sponsored
by the Mackay Cultural and Arts
Council, United States Forest
Service and the Mackay Chamber
of Commerce. For more

October
Halloween Carnival –
Halloween Night. Mackay High
School hosts a carnival for
children and adults. Enjoy
games, bingo, and great food.
Held in the Mackay High School
gym, corner of Rose Avenue and
Spruce Street.
November
Christmas Bazaar – 18 of
November, Saturday before
Thanksgiving. Come and take care
of your Christmas shopping at
this festive event featuring
crafters from all over the area.
Sponsored by the South Custer
Historical Society, the bazaar
is traditionally held at the
elementary school cafeteria,
corner of Rose Avenue and Spruce

Turkey Shoot – November,
10:00 am at the Seefried place.
There will be shooting, food and
prizes. Competitions will be
singles, doubles, women's and
Annie Oakelys. Sponsored by the
Mackay Cultural and Arts

December
Annual North American Moose
Foundation (N.A.M.F.)
International Convention –
December , This fun and
educational event will include:
Holiday booths, education day,
banquet, live and silent
auction, raffles and a Moose
calling contest. Remember to set
this date on your calendar. For

Mackay Christmas Festival
– December 15, 2007. "There's
Snow Place Like Mackay".
Downtown is lit-up and festive.
Bring the family, activities
include Cookie decorating and a
movie for the kids around 1:00
PM, Arts and Craft Booths will
be open from 2 - 8 PM, Main
Street entertainment will begin
about 5:30 PM, Startlight Parade
at 7:00 PM, and after the parade
stay for the Glow Carnival and
win glow in the dark games and
prizes. The Mackay Winter Games
sponsored by the Mackay Cultural
Arts Council will begin at 11:00
AM at Mackay's Kids Park. A
number of local businesses and
restaurants will be running
specials for the day, so come
enjoy the day and get your
holiday shopping completed.
January
"That Dam Festival"
– Held up at the Mackay Dam,
this will include: Turkey
bowling, cowboy curling, ice
skating, events for the kids and
fishing derby. Fun for the Kids
and the whole family. There will
be food, fun and prizes at this
annual event. Even if you don't
participate its a KICK to come
and watch. For more information

April
Annual Easter Egg Hunt – 8th
of April, Saturday before
Easter. This event is organized
by the Lions & Lady Lions Clubs.
Club members furnish and hide
Easter eggs for children to
find. Sometimes an egg will even
be worth something extra! Great
fun for the kids! Held at
Tourist Park, at the end of
Vaden Street.
May
Mackay High School Rodeo –
May 18th and 19th. Part of the
High School Rodeo circuit, this
event is always exciting. Held
at Mackay rodeo grounds, West
end of Capitol Avenue. Contact
